“We can’t say enough good things about Denis Groulx and DG Renovations. From his first few visits to discuss renovating our 1980s kitchen and master bathroom, Denis was a consummate professional - listening attentively to our needs, suggesting options, providing references, discussing budget, and proposing a realistic and reasonable plan. His positive attitude and enthusiasm for the project were infectious. Once the work began, Denis was on site almost daily, supervising the work, and doing much of it himself. He employs a small skilled crew of long-term collaborators, and they work together very effectively and are respectful of the homeowner’s space. Denis followed up each work day with a friendly and detailed email, summarizing what had been done that day and what was coming up, flagging any issues, and assigning our “homework”. Denis and his team’s flexibility around some unforeseen extra tasks was appreciated, and their collective ability to problem-solve on the fly is admirable. The team understood, and honoured, our desire to have the new designs respect the age and style of our home, and they put in extra effort to make it happen - reproducing heritage oak baseboards and window surrounds, preserving marble doorsills and concrete windowsills, and ensuring smooth transitions between old and new floor surfaces. They also went beyond building code in certain aspects of the work, to ensure a strong and highly functional structure. They were open and honest about budgetary matters, and left the job site immaculate at the end of each day, even keeping a temporary sink and our stove operational for all but 2 days of the 4-month+ project. Despite some delays that were out of all of our hands, Denis and his crew worked hard to finish the project in time for the Christmas holidays, which was always our goal. We are thrilled with our new kitchen and bathroom - our family and friends are amazed - and look forward to many years of enjoyment!”
